Contaminated water in Washington

I can't think of any other explanation for the horrendous things happening in Washington. The chaos and evil thinking that is permeating in Washington must be due to toxic waste in the water!

I can't imagine any sane "TRUE American" that believes in Freedom ever voting for or even considering the horrible acts in these bills.

I don't like being the "sky is falling" type person. I like citing examples of love and positive statements on Christianity. If I had to pick a movie character I most identified with - it would be Pollyanna. Pollyanna was a sweet little missionary's daughter who changed an entire town with her "glad" game. It's much more fun and psychologically satisfying to be the bearer of "glad" news.

Unfortunately dear friends, If I'm not honest with you about what I see - we could face tortures that this country fought and died to prevent. I know this will be long - but please bear with me and protect your children by reading this entire post.

Let's take a quick look at Hitler. Hitler's motives and dastardly deeds could be clearly seen by other countries. (How many other countries have asked us to stop all this spending?) His awful atrocities and philosophies were in plain sight to everyone except the German people. He had a way of cloaking himself so they couldn't see what he was really doing.

He made promises - lots of promises. And if you read his statements and investigate even a little history you will find that time after time he told an out right lie in order to gain the approval of his people but when it came time to produce what he had promised - he looked the other way.

I don't want to spend a lot of time giving you a history lesson in Nazi torture - but he assured the German people that the Jews were simply being taken to "Paradise Ally" or a beautiful place where they would be properly cared for. Instead the Jews were herded into concentration camps and gas chambers. I watched one American Armed Services movie showing Hitler yelling at other nations, "I did not invade Poland - she invaded Germany. We were only protecting the motherland."

In fact...one of his famous sayings was:

If you tell a big enough lie and tell it frequently enough, it will be believed. Adolf Hitler

Even more disturbing are these Hitler quotes. Take a moment to think about them:

Through clever and constant application of propaganda, people can be made to see paradise as hell, and also the other way round, to consider the most wretched sort of life as paradise.

The art of leadership...consists in consolidating the attention of the people against a single adversary and taking care that nothing will split up that attention.

What good fortune for governments that the people do not think.

It is always more difficult to fight against faith than against knowledge.

It is not truth that matters, but Victory.

Make the lie big, make it simple, keep saying it, and eventually they will believe it.

He alone, who owns the youth, gains the future.

It's this last quote that disturbs me the most. Why?

Go back over this list and apply it to the Washington of today. I'm not saying that they are a bunch of Hitlers, but their tactics do make you wonder what's going on.

The American people have been sold a bill of goods. We've been told that the government is the "only" source for solving our problems. We vote against gay marriage and then judges rule our votes as unconstitutional. We don't want to have government control of our banks and private business and yet....it is. We realize what's happening and we hold protests that are not only ignored - but are criticized and rather than applauded as free speech, we are called racists and low life.

The media is basically on board with every liberal idea and supports anything coming out of Washington.

Judges like Sotomeyor are trying to legislate and change our society from the bench rather than adhering to the constitution.

And History is being changed in school textbooks to conveniently paint American freedoms as out of date and unfair.

Plus.....

The Administration wants us to give up all our guns, our private businesses, our health care, our freedom of speech and our brains. Now they want our children.

Want proof? How many times has government or courts sided with the "extension" of a law rather than the "stated" law?

Here's an example. A thirteen-year-old boy in Washington State was removed from his parents after he complained to school counselors that his parents took him to church too often. His school counselors had encouraged him to call Child Protective Services with his complaint, which led to his subsequent removal and placement in foster care. It was only after the parents agreed to a judge's requirement of less-frequent church attendance that they were able to recover their son. There is nothing expressed in the Constitution or in the Bill of Rights that would allow the courts to take a child from his family and make demands on the "faith" of that family. How did the government do this? By "interpreting" rather than sticking securely within the written constitution. Most liberal thinkers know that unless they capture the hearts of our children they will not be able to continue with their march to a Godless society. Remember Hitler's quote... "It is always more difficult to fight against faith than against knowledge."

Now shift with me to the Health Care Bill. If you think your future has been derailed with the stimulus bill - you ain't seen nothing yet!

1. Sec. 142, pg. 42 - the Health Choices Commissioner will choose your benefits for you. You have no choice.

2. Sec. 152, Pg. 50-51 - HC will be provided to All Non-US citizens.

3. Sec. 163, Pg. 58-59 beginning at line 5 and then again at 21-24 - Government will have real-time access to individuals finances and a National ID health care card will be issued. Government will have direct access to your bank accounts for electronic funds transfer.

4. Sec. 1151, Pg. 298 Lines 9-11 Doctors, treat a patient during initial admission that results in a readmission and the government will penalize you for that action.

5. Sec. 1156 Pg. 317 Lines 13-20 Prohibition on physician ownership or Investment. Government tells doctor what/how much they can own.

8. Sec. 1233, deals specifically with END of life counseling, rationing health care for the elderly and helping people with euthanasia. Specifically page 425-426 Lines 22-25, 1-3 Government provides approved list of end-of-life resources, guiding you in death. Page 427, Lines 15-24 Government mandates program for orders for life-sustaining treatment (i.e.end of life). The government has a say in how your life ends. Page 429, Lines 10-12 - "Advanced Care Consultation" may include an Order for end-of-life plans - from the government.

9. Sec. 1302, Pg. 472, Lines 14-17 - Payment to Community Based Organization: One monthly payment to a community based organization like Acorn.

10. Sec. 1308 Pag. 489 - the government will cover Marriage and Family therapy. This will involve government control of your marriage.

11. Sec. 1401, Pg. 503, Lines 13-19 - The government will build registries and data networks from YOUR electronic medical records. "The center may secure directly from any department or agency of the United States information necessary to enable it to carry out this section."

12. Sec. 1401, Pg. 503, Lines 21-25 - The "Center" will collect data both "Published and unpublished" (that means public and your private information).

13. Sec. 1442, Pg. 623, Lines 15-17 - "Quality" measure shall be designed to profile you, including race, age, gender, place of residence, etc.

14. Sec. 1501 Pg. 659-670 - Doctors in Residency - government will tell you where your residency will be, thus where you'll live.

15. Sec. 1651, Pg. 734, Lines 15-25 - Purposes, for law enforcement sake, that the Secretary of HHS will give Attorney General access to ALL medical data.

16. Sec. 1801, Pg. 819-823 - The Government will identify individuals "likely to be ineligible for subsidies. Will access all personal financial information.

17. Sec. 440, Pg. 837-839 - The government will design and implement Home Visitation Program for families with young kids and families that are expecting children.

18. Sec. 1904, Pg. 843-844 This Home Visitation Program includes the government coming into your house and teaching/telling you how to parent!

19. Sec. 3121, Pg. 935, Lines 1-2 The government will develop "Healthy People & National Public Health Performance Standards." They will tell us what to eat.

20. Sec. 2511, Pg. 992 - Government will establish school-based "health" clinics. Your children will be indoctrinated and your grandchildren may be aborted.

Still not seeing it??? Our government has already made huge advances into our personal choices through taxes, religious persecution and the loss of free speech. But, even if you can't bring yourself to believe in a big bad government machine - think just a moment about the "new" black panthers that stood outside a voting poll and intimidated voters. They were indited by the state but released from all charges by the Federal government. Those guys will be part of the Americorp the administration is talking about. Those men along with Acorn will be the ones knocking on your door and intimidating you to fill out 28 pages of census - including your religious affiliation and what time you get home from work.

Suppose the government in it's great wisdom decides to hire homosexuals to positions of The Home Visitation Program. Their power is not spelled out in this document. That leaves plenty of room for the Administration to widen their powers.

This individual comes in to inspect your home and finds out that you are a Christian and teaching your child that the gay lifestyle is wrong. He demands that you teach your child differently. Where do you go? Do you risk having your child taken away and waiting on the courts to return him or do you try to file a complaint that may or may not be viewed by a person that will be sympathetic to your views? What will you do if this in-home advisor wants you to stop discipline or thinks a little teen sex is okay? What will you do if he thinks your discipline is wrong and his is right?

If you think for just a minute about how an unscrupulous person can use these proposed laws - it's frightening.

Please listen to Glenn Beck or some other personality and let's unite while we still can. Call Washington and demand that they throw this monster away. Write washington. Pass the blog to your friends. Vote differently in 2010. Don't wait for someone else to do what you should be doing. Everyone MUST be involved!

And of course....Pray, pray, pray. We can't let the take over of our country and our freedoms happen without so much as a whimper. I've included several links in the sidebar of people that will keep you informed.

What's Wrong - in a nutshell...

American life has become the new "weather" talk. When I was young I remember hearing the old statement, "Everyone talks about the weather but no one can do anything about it."

That statement was a recognition that something was wrong but also that you just had to accept it. Go along. Do your best to survive.

Now that our American way of life is being attacked and we feel helpless and overwhelmed to stop any of it, Americans are adopting the "weather" philosophy. They feel that if there's nothing they can do to stop it, they better just hunker down and endure it.

So what's wrong with America - in a nut shell?

We've forgotten how to live this life and the one thing that's important!

Life isn't about money or jobs or achievements or even sex. Oh, we've been conditioned to think that. We've been conditioned to think that failure in any respect - on any topic - would be the worst thing that could happen. We can't say to our spouse - "Not tonight dear". We can't say to our boss "No thanks for the promotion - it will take too much time away from my family." We can't say to our child, "You got a D! Shame on you - you are better than that." Instead we have to take a pill, neglect our families and accept the school philosophy to do away with grades.

And now, the new philosophy is to say to a pregnant woman, "You don't really want a child. Let me kill it for you." That philosophy has opened up the new statement included in Obama's healthcare package - "You are too old. You can't possibly be of any use to us. Let me show you how to kill yourself."

No, we are such gluttons that we have to have everything. Our children must be the smartest and our house must be the biggest. We have to make a large salary because we have to drive the fanciest cars and eat in only the best restaurants. We are told that if we don't have a $200,000 home and a wide screen TV that we can't possibly live a productive or happy life.

What's wrong with that? It leads us to believe that if we can't do it that we have the right to ask someone else to do it for us. We have to have medication or a fake degree or a government subsidized home.

BUT....none of that will do it. We will still be miserable inside. Why? Because the only time success feels good is when it comes as a result of hard work.

You can't change that! No government can solve it and No pill will make it okay.

And Parents....you can't solve it either. I know two families right now that are suffering because their children are on medications. But why are they being so heavily medicated? Because the parents can't accept the fact that their children don't want the college degree. They don't want to push to be the smartest and they don't want a large home, two children and four fancy cars. What they do want is a nice little job that will give them enough money to rent or buy a tiny house and enough time to enjoy their life.

Mom and Dad keep pushing and the children just want out. Doctors think they are suicidal so medications are delivered and everyone is miserable. Why....because little Johnny doesn't want the hype.

What America needs to do is get back to basics! Ask yourself two questions. What is really important in my life? and What am I doing to take care of and protect that one thing?

I am a writer. I love to write. But....I know what's important in my life. My family and my faith. If being a writer compromises either one of those - I won't like myself. So...writing is something that I do when those other two are in place. When my parents came for a visit in May/June.....writing took a backseat. When my son calls because he needs a pep talk from mom - I move away from the computer. That way, when I lay down at night, I know I've done my best. I've taken care of the most important thing and I did the best with the rest of my life.

If you ask yourself the same question and you arrive at the same answers but you work an hourly wage job - you may not be able to take off when you want. But....maybe you'll wait to buy that new car so you can make an extra trip to see Grandma this summer. Or maybe you'll decide not to buy the house because you want to tithe or you simply want the time to go to the park and talk with a friend. Maybe you'll turn down a $100,000 because you want to keep your simple lifestyle?

What? Are you crazy? Who would do that? George Washington Carver held over 400 patents for his inventions. (Being poor doesn't keep you from being productive) When Thomas Edison asked him to come work for him at $100,000 a year, Carver declined citing that he could get more work done for the people in his makeshift run-down laboratory. When other businessmen offered to purchase his patents, he would give them away instead commenting, "I will not make a profit on a God given talent."

Americans are looking to the government to bail them out because they forgot that the most priceless thing in their lives is to have the "freedom of time" to be everything God wants them to be as a person. Instead Americans are looking for ways to be famous or popular without being a worthy person or doing the work required for the position.

God's way is best. Observe the 10 commandments. Be a person of quality and honor. Be present with your family and keep life as simple as possible. Let God make the determination of who rises to the top and who doesn't. When you make success in any area more important that quality of life - you are in danger.

If you concentrate on being a respected individual, you'll avoid affairs, divorce, some illnesses, stress, delinquency in your children, and a lot of mental torture.

Listen to the simpleness of the following gentlemen. He's got it right. Perhaps we all need to re-evaluate our lives and realize that we were a thousand times better when the government left us alone and allowed us to work hard, worship in freedom and take responsibility for our own "simple" lives.

Common Sense by Glenn Beck

I know many of you are struggling with the information coming out of Washington. Many people have cried on my shoulder feeling that the America they love is being murdered on a daily basis. One grandmother told me that she feels depressed because her grandchildren will never know the same freedoms she grew up with.

I talked with a Pastor that wouldn't look me in the face. "I have betrayed my country. I honestly thought maybe I was being more spiritual if I encouraged people to just pray for our country and then vote as they pleased. I wish I would have taken a hard stand on the last election. I wish all pastors would stood against this liberal monster that is destroying our freedoms. Instead, now I feel like I've betrayed Christ and my members."

I tried to be consoling as we prayed together....but I also realize that wrong doing comes with consequences. If we don't stand against injustice, we will suffer the consequences.

That's why I'm spending so many hours working on my next book, Child of Light. It's a massive novel about a family that must survive a meltdown of American values, economic downturns and violence. It is NOT an end times book. God will not return at the end of the series. They must survive and accept the responsibility of rebuilding the freedoms that were lost. I believe it can be done!

I listen to Glenn Beck (Fox Cable News - 5:00pm) everyday. Not because it's pleasant to hear about all the nonsense - but because I believe he really is trying to bring us the truth. He's trying to shed light on the cause of our problems. I'm also reading his newest book, Common Sense.

PLEASE get this book! It will be the best $7 you've spent all year. It's a history lesson and an explanation of what needs to change. It's easy to read and a fast reader can run through it in record time.



One of the many alarming facts he points out in his book is "gerrymandering". It's a tool used by many politicians to restructure a district so they are guaranteed a win for re-election. Obama is going to try to use this tactic with Acorn and the census. Read the book. Knowledge is power and we must be ready.

Thank Goodness my security is in God. Washington can't be trusted.

Are we too busy???

Rarely do I have time to browse the Internet, but I came across a fun article today.

It's from the British website Telegraph.co.uk

The Lead story discussed the fact that Brits were now so busy that they were forgetting little daily chores. Things like letting their coffee get cold, leaving wet clothes int he washer and misplacing car keys seemed to dominate their day.

I rarely finish a cup of coffee and I actually write myself a note to remember there are clothes in the basement. It seems our brains just can't hold all the "stuff" we have to deal with on a daily basis.

What was funny however, is that halfway down this article there is a picture and a link to a story where a former oil rig worker spent 15 years building an exact replica of a North Sea platform - out of more than four million matchsticks.

It made me wonder....why are some of us so busy that we don't have time to finish our coffee while others have so much time on their hands they can fiddle with four million matchsticks?

I don't consider myself a work-a-holic but.....hum.....what do you think?

Dinner with Mr. Obama

I don't usually pass on e-mails and rarely share them on the blog. This one is such a terrific mental picture that I had to share it with you. You might want to share this with your wealthy Democratic friends, if you have any, the GOP folks have already lost their dinner roll.


Dinner with Obama, a parable

Once upon a time, I was invited to the White House for a private dinner with the President. I am a respected businessman, with a factory that produces memory chips for computers and portable electronics.

There was some talk that my industry was being scrutinized by the administration, but I paid it no mind. I live in a free country. There's nothing that the government can do to me if I've broken no laws. My wealth was earned honestly, and an invitation to dinner with an American President is an honor.

I checked my coat, was greeted by the Chief of Staff, and joined the President in a yellow dining room. We sat across from each other at a table draped in white linen. The Great Seal was embossed on the china. Uniformed staff served our dinner.The meal was served.

I was startled when my waiter suddenly reached out, plucked a dinner roll off my plate, and began nibbling it as he walked back to the kitchen. "Sorry about that," said the President. "Andrew is very hungry."

"I don't appreciate..." I began, but as I looked into the calm brown eyes across from me, I felt immediately guilty and petty. It was just a dinner roll. "Of course," I concluded, and reached for my glass.

Before I could get my fingers around the inviting drink, another waiter reached forward, took the glass away and swallowed the wine in a single gulp.

"And his brother Eric is very thirsty." said the President. I didn't say anything. The President is testing my compassion, I thought. I will play along. I don't want to seem unkind. My plate was whisked away before I had tasted a bite.

"Eric's children are also quite hungry." With a lurch, I crashed to the floor. My chair had been pulled out from under me. I stood, brushing myself off angrily, and watched as it was carried from the room.

"And their grandmother can't stand for long." I excused myself, smiling outwardly, but inside feeling like a fool. Obviously I had been invited to the White House to be sport for some game. I reached for my coat, to find that it had been taken. I turned back to the President.

"Their grandfather doesn't like the cold." I wanted to shout- that was my coat! But again, I looked at the placid smiling face of my host and decided I was being a poor sport. I spread my hands helplessly and chuckled. Then I felt my hip pocket and realized my wallet was gone. I excused myself and walked to a phone on an elegant side table. I learned shortly that my credit cards had been maxed out, my bank accounts emptied, my retirement and equity portfolios had vanished, and my wife had been thrown out of our home. Apparently, the waiters and their families were moving in.

The President hadn't moved or spoken as I learned all this, but finally I lowered the phone into its cradle and turned to face him.

"Andrew's whole family has made bad financial decisions. They haven't planned for retirement, and they need a house. They recently defaulted on a subprime mortgage. I told them they could have your home. They need it more than you do."

My hands were shaking. I felt faint. I stumbled back to the table and knelt on the floor. The President cheerfully cut his meat, ate his steak and drank his wine. I lowered my eyes and stared at the small grey circles on the tablecloth that were water drops."By the way," He added, "I have just signed an Executive Order nationalizing your factories. I'm firing you as head of your business. I'll be operating the firm now for the benefit of all mankind. There's a whole bunch of Erics and Andrews out there and they can't come to you for jobs groveling like beggars."

I looked up. The President dropped his spoon into the empty ramekin which had been his creme brulee. He drained the last drops of his wine. As the table was cleared, he lit a cigarette and leaned back in his chair. He stared at me. I clung to the edge of the table as if were a ledge and I were a man hanging over an abyss. I thought of the years behind me, of the life I had lived. The life I had earned with a lifetime of work, risk and struggle. Why was I punished? How had I allowed it to be taken? What game had I played and lost? I looked across the table and noticed with some surprise that there was no game board between us. What had I done wrong?

As if answering the unspoken thought, the President suddenly cocked his head, locked his empty eyes to mine, and bared a million teeth, chuckling wryly as he folded his hands. "You should have stopped me at the dinner roll," he said.

God have mercy on us!

Dancing over nothing

A dear friend called today, giggled and explained that she was "literally" dancing in her kitchen over....a simple little hope.

She has been fighting depression over the current state of affairs in America and worried about the genocide of the elderly built into the Obama care health plan. She worries that her son and daughter will not be able to survive the massive taxes of the cap and trade. She cries over the millions of babies that will be destroyed this year by her tax dollars. And she asks God to deliver the thousands of people bound by drugs, sexual perversion and a loss of faith.

She was watching a news broadcast and heard that because democrats were now fighting over how to pay for Obama care - the bill might actually fail. Based on the hope that it would miserably fail - she was laughing like a child and doing the Watusi over her steamed veggies.

She stopped for a moment and seriously asked, "Is it bad to be excited? Why am I so excited? This thing may pass somewhere down the road and it still may force me to have a long and painful death."

After a quick prayer together I tried to explain her euphoria.

She's not alone. About 2/3's of this country is feeling depressed. I spend a good part of my day involved in a one man debate about who's really in control and the fact that even if I lose it all tomorrow - for today I'm still fairly free and personally okay. Millions of people across the country are trying to do the same. Some turn to their Bibles, or to church, some to overwork, some to writing, some sleep away the days, some to playing with their children, some hold protest and some wander into bad habits like alcohol or drugs.

Most of those who feel the depression are older. We are the children of WWII vets who have enjoyed the freedoms those veterans secured for us. Not all of us are senior citizens but we are old enough to have studied history in an educational system before the liberals changed our textbook facts.

Many of us lived through the transformation of America after WWII and we know what worked for America and what didn't. We listened to broadcast that confirmed who was responsible for freedom around the world. We found respect and honor in those leaders and it was easy to follow them. Our leaders weren't so concerned about polls and re-election that they sold out the very constituents that put them in office.

We were the strong American public that stood at attention when the flag went by, held a hand over our heart when the National Anthem was sung and let tears flow down our cheeks because we identified with our "free" America. America was just as unique as our own DNA. She wasn't Mexican, Chinese or even black. America was just that - American! She spoke English, punished criminals and demanded excellence from every inhabitant. America was a Christian nation with Christian values and strong people.

We also enjoy the sweet memories of an America that was hopeful, patriotic and Christian. We experienced days of hard work, families that loved each other, governments that stayed out of our lives and the hope that we could do anything if given the chance. We dressed in our best to load the car on Sunday morning and drove our entire family to church. We heard sermons about integrity, strength, forgiveness and hard work. We insisted that our children be respectful, honorable and kind to everyone. We observed manners, promoted education and didn't mind being a role model for our children. We thought the ten commandments was a great way to live.

We wanted excellence. To strive to be "dumb and dumber" was not a part of our character. We didn't want the same playing field for everyone. We respected hard work and enjoyed watching our children give their very best in an attempt to win. The trophy or title was not the most important. Being your best was. We wanted the chance to be the best, the top of the hill, the strongest and make the most of all our talents. We loved our valedictorians and thought it was a huge display of unsportsmanlike behavior to want to bring their achievements down so our laziness wouldn't look so bad.

We were America. We were closely tied to her success and her goals. Every time an achievement was made - it was made in the parameters of being an "American".

Now we tearfully watch as those goals, values and ethics are killed. As those freedoms are taken away from us - we feel as though "we" are dying as well. Advice from seniors about "the good life" is ridiculed and with that ridicule we feel as though our heart is going into cardiac arrest.

When we see even a spark of hope, it's no wonder that we want to dance. We can't control our emotions when we think someone - anyone is coming to the rescue of this land. Like watching a patient in intensive care - our breath catches in our throat when we see even the most minute change in behavior.

Don't you dare believe the liberal slant that rejoicing over the death of a bill that will hurt your beloved land is somehow mean or cruel.

Rejoice....dance as hard as you can. Pray....pray as hard as possible that the liberal agenda to destroy America will not succeed. March in the parade, salute the flag and protest the killing of your America!

We giggled some more and then we both danced!

I am praying that there will be even more opportunities to dance.
